2. Acceptance & Eligibility
By creating an Account, accessing the Platform, or purchasing a Subscription, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation.
You may use the Platform only if all of the following are true:
- You are at least 16 years old, or the higher minimum age required by the laws of your jurisdiction (commonly 18). If you are between 16 and 18, you confirm a parent or guardian has reviewed these Terms.
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
- You are not located in, or a national of, a country subject to comprehensive trade sanctions where provision of the Platform is prohibited.
- You have not previously been suspended or removed from WSU.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
3. The Platform & Independence
WSU is an independent learning platform that helps candidates prepare for the CFA® Program. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to CFA Institute or any other examination provider, professional body, or regulator.
CFA® and Chartered Financial Analyst® are registered trademarks owned by CFA Institute. All other third-party trademarks, service marks, and logos referenced on the Platform belong to their respective owners. Use of those marks does not imply any endorsement.
Nothing on the Platform constitutes financial, investment, tax, legal, or career advice. The Platform is an educational tool only — see our Disclaimer for details.
4. Accounts & Security
4.1 Registration
You may register using an email address and password, or by signing in with Google or LinkedIn (OAuth). You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information during registration and to keep it accurate. We may require you to verify your email address before granting full access.
4.2 Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your Account. You must:
- Choose a strong, unique password and not share it with anyone;
- Notify us immediately at security@wallstreetuni.com if you suspect any unauthorised use;
- Sign out of shared or public devices after each session;
- Not attempt to access another user’s Account without authorisation.
4.3 One Account per person
Subscriptions are personal and non-transferable. You may not share, sell, lease, sublicense or otherwise transfer your Account or grant any other person access to it. We may block concurrent sessions or apply reasonable rate limits to enforce this.
4.4 Account deletion
You can delete your Account at any time from your dashboard or by emailing support@wallstreetuni.com. Some data may be retained as set out in our Privacy Policy (for example, billing records required by tax law).
5. Subscriptions, Pricing & Billing
5.1 Plans
Paid Subscriptions unlock the full Platform, including the question bank, mock exams, AI Assistant, detailed analytics, and other premium features. Current plans and prices for CFA Level I (USD):
| Plan | Price | Billing |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $120 / month | Recurring until cancelled |
| Lifetime | $499 (one-time) | Single payment, no renewal |
Indicative pricing for CFA Level II ($140/mo, $599 lifetime) and Level III ($160/mo, $699 lifetime) will apply when those levels become generally available. Until then, you can join the waitlist; no charge is made until the level launches and you confirm purchase. The current authoritative pricing is always shown on our Pricing page.
5.2 Currency, taxes & fees
Prices are quoted in U.S. dollars unless otherwise indicated. Prices are exclusive of VAT, sales tax, GST and similar taxes unless explicitly stated, and we may collect such taxes where required by law. You are responsible for any bank fees, foreign-exchange charges, or import duties levied by your payment provider or country.
5.3 Payment processing
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Card details are provided directly to Stripe and we do not store full card numbers on our systems. By purchasing a Subscription you agree to Stripe’s terms in addition to ours. See our Privacy Policy for what billing data we receive from Stripe.
5.4 Authorisation
By providing payment details you authorise us (via Stripe) to charge the applicable fees, taxes, and any recurring renewal amounts to your chosen payment method until you cancel. If a charge fails, we may retry the charge, suspend access, and ultimately downgrade or terminate your Subscription.
5.5 Price changes
We may change prices for new Subscriptions at any time. For existing recurring Subscriptions, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email of any price change before it takes effect. If you do not agree to the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect; otherwise the change will apply from your next renewal. Lifetime purchases are not affected by future price changes.
6. Free Trial
We may offer a free trial of the Platform. The trial is available only to first-time users and only after you explicitly start it from your dashboard — registration alone does not begin a trial.
- The trial is 2 days.
- No payment method is required to start the trial.
- At the end of the trial, you will lose paid features unless you upgrade to a Subscription.
- We may withdraw, shorten, or modify the trial at any time.
- Abuse — for example, creating multiple accounts to extend the trial — is grounds for immediate termination.
7. Automatic Renewal & Cancellation
Monthly Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle at the then-current price for your plan, until you cancel. Lifetime purchases do not renew.
7.1 How to cancel
You can cancel at any time from your account settings, or by emailing billing@wallstreetuni.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access until then but will not be charged again.
7.2 Effect of cancellation
After cancellation, your data is preserved per our retention rules in the Privacy Policy. You can reactivate your Subscription at any time by re-subscribing.
8. Licence to Use the Platform
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform for your own personal, non-commercial study and exam-preparation purposes.
All other rights are reserved. This licence ends automatically when your Account is terminated or your Subscription expires.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to do any of the following:
- Copy, scrape, mirror, redistribute, publish, sell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit any Content;
- Use any automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Platform other than search-engine indexing of public pages;
- Bypass, disable, or interfere with security features, paywalls, rate limits, or usage controls;
- Use the AI Assistant or any other feature to generate questions or explanations and then resell or republish them as your own product;
- Inject prompts, jailbreaks, or instructions intended to elicit unsafe, harmful, or policy-violating output from our AI;
- Upload malware, spam, phishing content, or material that infringes intellectual-property rights or applicable law;
- Harass, threaten, defame, impersonate, or violate the privacy of other users, our staff, or third parties;
- Submit content that violates the CFA Institute Code of Ethics, including disclosure of confidential CFA® exam materials;
- Use the Platform to facilitate cheating in any examination or to violate any examination provider’s rules;
- Probe, scan, stress-test, or pen-test the Platform without our prior written consent.
We may investigate suspected violations and cooperate with law enforcement. Violations may result in suspension or termination without refund and may be reported to relevant authorities or examination bodies.
10. AI Features
The Platform includes an AI-powered feature known as the WSU Assistant chatbot. This feature relies on third-party large-language-model providers. By using the WSU Assistant, you agree to the following:
- Accuracy is not guaranteed. AI output may be incorrect, incomplete, or out of date. You must independently verify any output before relying on it for the actual exam.
- Inputs are processed by third parties. Your messages and prompts may be transmitted to and processed by AI providers under their own terms and privacy policies. Do not submit confidential, sensitive, or personally identifying information about other people.
- Output is provided “as is.” We do not assume the role of an investment adviser, tutor, or professional adviser by providing AI output.
- Usage limits. We may apply fair-use limits, queueing, or temporary suspension to protect service quality and control costs.
- Improvement of the Platform. Aggregated, anonymised metadata about AI interactions may be used to improve our service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Mock Exams & Practice Questions
Our question bank and mock exams are developed internally by WSU and are designed to reflect the general structure, topic areas, and difficulty of the relevant CFA® Program level. They are not copies of past exams and are not provided, endorsed, or approved by CFA Institute.
Question content, format, and explanations may be updated, modified, or removed at any time without notice.
Any scores, analytics, or performance indicators provided on the Platform are for informational and educational purposes only and do not predict or guarantee your performance on the actual CFA® exam.
You may use the questions solely for your personal, non-commercial study. You may not reproduce, distribute, share, publish, or otherwise exploit any questions or related materials without our prior written consent.
12. Leaderboard & Public Profile
The Platform includes a public leaderboard. Your participation is governed by the visibility settings in your account (e.g. “Hall of Fame visibility”). When you opt in:
- Your display name, country (if provided), level being prepared for, avatar, and study statistics may be visible to other users and unauthenticated visitors.
- You can opt out at any time from your account settings; we will remove your data from the public leaderboard within a reasonable period.
- You agree not to use the leaderboard to harass, dox, or otherwise misuse information about other users.
13. User Content & Submissions
13.1 Ownership
You retain all ownership rights in your User Content. You are solely responsible for User Content you submit and for ensuring you have all necessary rights to do so.
13.2 Licence to us
You grant WSU a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable licence to host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works from, communicate, and display your User Content, solely as needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote the Platform. This licence terminates when you delete your User Content, except where we must retain it to comply with law or to resolve disputes.
13.3 Feedback
If you submit suggestions, ideas, bug reports, feature requests, or other feedback, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use them for any purpose without compensation or attribution to you.
13.4 Avatars & profile photos
You may upload a custom photo or use a generated avatar. By uploading, you confirm you have the right to do so and that the image does not infringe any third-party right or violate Section 9.
14. Email, Newsletter & Notifications
By creating an Account, you agree to receive transactional emails (account verification, password resets, billing receipts, security alerts, and important service announcements). These cannot be opted out of while your Account is active.
Marketing emails — such as the WSU newsletter, product updates, and promotional offers — are opt-in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email or by adjusting your preferences in account settings.
15. Intellectual Property
The Platform and all Content (other than User Content) — including text, graphics, code, designs, animations, videos, charts, AI-generated material, audio, layouts, the WSU brand, the WSU logo, and the “Wall Street Uni” name — are owned by WSU or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, database, and other intellectual-property laws.
No express or implied licence is granted other than the limited licence in Section 8. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
15.1 Copyright complaints
If you believe that any Content on the Platform infringes your copyright, please contact us at legal@wallstreetuni.com with sufficient detail to identify the material in question, including:
- (a) a description of the copyrighted work;
- (b) the location (URL) of the allegedly infringing content;
- (c) your contact details; and
- (d) a statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorised.
We will review and respond to all such notices in accordance with applicable law.
16. Third-Party Services
The Platform may integrate with or rely on third-party services to provide certain functionality, such as payment processing, authentication, and AI features.
Your use of such services may be subject to the terms and policies of the relevant third-party providers. We do not control and are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or content of any third-party services.
Any links to third-party websites are provided for convenience only, and we do not endorse or assume any responsibility for them.
17. Service Availability & Changes
We strive to keep the Platform available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, updates, third-party outages, and unforeseen events may temporarily affect availability.
We may add, remove, or modify features, content, integrations, and pricing at any time. Where a change materially reduces a paid feature you actively rely on, we will give reasonable notice and, where appropriate, offer a pro-rated refund or alternative.
18. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate your Account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have:
- Breached these Terms or any policy referenced in them;
- Created risk or possible legal exposure for WSU, our users, or third parties;
- Engaged in fraudulent activity, chargeback abuse, or non-payment;
- Used the Platform in a way that violates applicable law.
In the case of serious or repeated violations, we may terminate immediately and without refund. You may terminate your Account at any time as described in Section 4.4.
19. Disclaimer of Warranties
EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET OUT IN THESE TERMS, AND TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE PLATFORM AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE — INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED ACCESS.
We make no representation, promise, or guarantee that you will pass any examination, achieve any particular score, or obtain any qualification by using the Platform. Outcomes depend on many factors outside our control, including your prior knowledge, study habits, and the policies of the relevant examination provider.
Nothing in this section excludes any warranty or right that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
20. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WSU, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, DATA, OR EXAM RESULTS — WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED USD 100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS LOWER.
21. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless WSU and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your use of the Platform; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third-party right or applicable law.
We reserve the right, at our own expense, to assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter for which you would otherwise indemnify us, in which case you will cooperate with us in asserting any available defences.
22. Privacy & Data Protection
Your use of the Platform is subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, share, and protect personal data. To the extent we process personal data on your behalf, we do so as a controller (for our own purposes) or as a processor where applicable.
We comply with applicable data protection and privacy laws, including, where applicable, laws relating to the processing of personal data in the jurisdictions where we operate.
23. Force Majeure
We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, war, terrorism, civil unrest, epidemics, pandemics, industrial action, governmental orders, network or power outages, or failures of third-party services (such as Stripe, AI providers, hosting providers, or DNS).
24. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
Subject to applicable consumer protection laws, disputes shall be resolved by the competent courts of Prague, Czech Republic.
If you are a consumer, this does not affect any right you may have to bring proceedings in your country of residence under applicable law.
Before initiating formal legal proceedings, you agree to make a reasonable effort to resolve any dispute by contacting us at legal@wallstreetuni.com.
25. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect. For material changes that adversely affect your rights, we will give at least 30 days’ notice by email and/or in-app notice before the change takes effect.
By continuing to use the Platform after the effective date of an updated version of these Terms, you agree to be bound by the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Platform and may cancel your Subscription as described in Section 7.
26. Miscellaneous
26.1 Entire agreement
These Terms (together with the documents referenced in Section 1) constitute the entire agreement between you and WSU regarding the Platform and supersede any prior agreements on the same subject matter.
26.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect, and the invalid provision will be replaced by an enforceable provision that comes closest to the original intent.
26.3 No waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that right or provision.
26.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any of your rights or obligations under them without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms to any affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale of assets, on at least 30 days’ notice.
26.5 No agency
Nothing in these Terms creates any agency, partnership, joint-venture, or employment relationship between you and us.
26.6 Notices
We may give notices by email, in-app messages, or by posting on the Platform. You may give notices to us by email to legal@wallstreetuni.com.
26.7 Headings & language
Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation. The English version of these Terms is the controlling version; any translation is provided for convenience.
